Sisterhood

Women of Reform Judaism

Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) is the Reform movement’s federation of over 500 Temple Sisterhoods with collectively more than 60,000 members throughout the United States, Canada, Israel, and around the world. Here at Beth Ahabah, Sisterhood is the organization for women of the congregation to work, learn, and have fun together. Sisterhood supports the Temple and Religious School through Onegs Shabbat, Model Seders, Purim Carnivals, Chanukah Shops, as well as social events, educational programs, and opportunities for personal growth. Also, in recent years, the membership has supported important political and social issues in our community and around the world.

Sisterhood does not derive its strength from any one individual but rather the collective spirit of us all. Sisterhood is the magic created when we, as women, come together.

  • If you are a mother or grandmother of a child in religious school, please join us in recognition of the tremendous support that Sisterhood has provided over the years to our congregational youth.
  • If you have ever received a card, a call, or been comforted in some way in the past by Sisterhood, please join us to help Sisterhood continue to do the same for others in the future.
  • If you have attended or considered attending a Sisterhood event in the past, please join us to share your valuable insight regarding future programming.
  • If you are a past leader of Sisterhood, please join us to provide support to future leaders and continue the legacy of strength to strength.
  • If you are looking for stronger connections with other women at Beth Ahabah, both Jewish and non-Jewish, please join us so we can get to know each other better.
  • If you think no one will notice if you are not with us, you are wrong! We will miss you!
